How long U been DJing? About 5 years
Fave club/venue played: Sweet Harmony @ Abyss, Ayia Napa 2001.
If you haven’t been to Abyss, basically it is an amazing
looking super-club. I was doing the warm-up for Pied Piper, the
club was rammed and it was such a buzz as the DJ box is high up.
The crowd were incredible, I did a wicked set and nuthing sorted
were filming me… I felt like a superstar DJ!
Fave Producers: DnD, DJ Narrows, Todd Edwards. M.J. Cole. Booker
T.
Fave DJ: The one and only E.Z. of course.
Fave Tune of all time: C.J. Bolland - Sugar is Sweeter (brings
back summer memories of Ibiza)
Fave tune - last 6 months: 3 Play – Girl in the taxi (All
3 mixes on the 12” are great)
Fave Labels: Locked on. Defected.
Time of Set: Mondays 10.00pm-11.30pm.
Biography: I started DJing many moons ago but didn’t take
the whole thing very seriously until I bought my own decks. I’d
been collecting records for a while and first concentrated on
House & UK Garage. I got a lucky break playing for a pirate
called Life FM where I played very loud basslines, very early
on a Sunday morning! After a few months I landed a show on Freeze
FM, which resulted in a few play outs.
Looking for the opportunity to play out more (and a little sunshine),
I then decided to do a season in Ayia Napa. I lived there for
6 months in 2001 and was resident at Volt Bar and Gas Club. I
played at promotions including: Garage Fever, La Cosa Nostra,
Exposure, Garage Heaven, One Night Stand. I have also played at
Abyss (Sweet Harmony), Rise (Lords of the Underground), Insomnia
(legendary after party) and Black & White Club. Along with
MC’s including: Viper, Vision, Sharky P, CKP, PSG &
Supplier.
On my return to the UK, UKG had taken a turn for the worse and
there weren’t a lot of tunes I wanted to buy. I started
buying anything that I liked, and have now evolved into a versatile
DJ who plays a wide variety of styles. Although I have the ability
to read the crowd, I have always liked to shock my audience by
playing something they least expect. Thankfully, 2003 looks like
a promising year for my kinda garage – expect lots of 4/4
from me…
In December 2002 I won the Beaconsfield Bar Med DJ Competition
Final – and will shortly be playing in the regional finals…
Currently you can catch me playing occasional Friday nites at
Zanzibar, Uxbridge (House & Classics) or on your favourite
award winning station, MajorFm.com, Mondays 10.00pm-11.30pm.
